How to use Earol Olive Oil Spray

The use of Earol olive oil as described below will greatly reduce the necessity of a second appointment.

Earol is medical grade olive oil in a spray format that can be bought from the Marches Foot Care & Ear Wax Removal clinic, your local chemist or online.

Olive oil is the only solution necessary to get the wax into a suitable state for micro-suction. Other preparations available from the chemist such as Otex express, which contains hydrogen peroxide or solutions containing sodium bicarbonate are not advised, as both have proven to hinder the extraction process and are also likely to aggravate the ear canal.

Upon purchasing Earol, please remove the triangular cap and prime the bottle.

Two sprays twice a day for approximately 3-5 days prior to the appointment is recommended. It is vital that you lie down on the opposite ear after application. Massage the oiled ear and allow the oil to fully penetrate the wax for a few minutes. Then turn over and do the ear on the other side.

If you are a hearing aid user applying the oil just at night may be best. 5 – 7 days of oiling is then recommended.

Please do not place cotton wool in the ear after applying the oil as this tends to absorb the oil away from the wax.
